I’m Sarah Perry, a Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and Mama to three breastfed children. With over a decade of experience supporting and educating breastfeeding families, I offer a personalized, evidence-based approach to care, tailored to meet each family’s specific goals. I hold Bachelor’s degrees from UNC-Wilmington in both Psychology (2005) and Nursing (2009) with diverse nursing experience spanning Pediatrics, Pediatric/Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother/Baby, and Lactation.
My path to becoming a lactation consultant was deeply personal and began with the birth of my premature twins. Navigating my early postpartum weeks in the NICU, I quickly learned how complex and overwhelming feeding challenges can be—especially when compounded by the emotional weight of a premature delivery. During that time, I experienced first-hand the value of being supported with knowledgeable and compassionate care. This journey not only shaped by perspective as a mother, but also sparked my passion for helping other families feel informed, supported, and empowered in their own feeding experience.
My approach
I believe quality lactation care should include feel personal, judgement-free, and deeply supportive. Every baby, every body, and every feeding journey is different- and that’s exactly where my care begins. Whether you’re preparing during pregnancy, navigating the early days of breastfeeding, pumping for the first time, or working through challenges like latch issues or low milk supply, I will meet you where you are- with evidence-based guidance and heartfelt support.
